Biography
I was born in Portland, Oregon and moved to Helena, Montana at 18 months old. I started playing acoustic and learning harmonies at the age of 5. At the age of 10, I joined the Helena Boys Choir (now Ironhorse Music). I also toured Japan for 10 days and sang backup for Tennessee Ernie Ford. I joined Honors choir my Junior year in high school and was one of the first people in my school’s history to make Honors choir without having been in a lower choir. In 1993, I entered college at the University of Portland in Oregon majoring in Music Education with a focus on Voice. I left the University of Portland after my Junior year. In 1999, I started playing bass and singing professionally. I played around Montana until 2013 and opened for Ricochet during that time before moving to Nashville, Tennessee. After arriving in Nashville on September 11, 2013, I did a run with Doug Supernaw and played off and on for Lance Stinson. Since then, I have played and sang in Nashville and across the country ever since, and I released my first single, 'Till Tomorrow during the pandemic.
On January 15, 2022, I had gastric sleeve surgery. My heaviest recorded weight was 509 lbs. I am now currently in the low 280s and my goal weight is 255 lbs. (half of my body weight). I decided to get into music partly because I have a talent, but also, I want to hopefully inspire others to get the help that they need. I have personally struggled with weight and an eating disorder. I want people with depression, eating disorders, and other health problems to know that if I can succeed, so can they. You can get busy living or get busy dying. The choice is yours, but Anything is possible…
